Please read the passage before the homily.
My sisters and brothers,
“Who is this whom even the wind and the sea obey?” It is the Lord who surfs the waves of the sea. The voice of the Lord over the waters. Much stronger than a surfboarder is the Lord.
Storms can rend rocks, but the Lord can save all sailors. “Quiet! Be still!” The Lord has spoken.
The Lord surfs over the waters of baptism to save those who receive these waters. “Who is this whom even” the waters of baptism obey?
At the moment of our baptism, the Lord said, “Let us o to the other side. If the Lord be sleeping, we need not be afraid. The Lord is just as strong sleeping as awake.
God is in the whole of creation. In the waters of the storm. God was there. In the smallest part of a sub-atomic particle, God is there. In the biggest mountain, the biggest planet and the largest star, God is there. In the most secret parts of our being, there God is. Likewise, God always surfs the waves and controls our destiny.
Who is our God? It is the strong Lord who puts everything in order strongly and makes everything good, It is the Lord who surfs the winds and the waters of our life to save us. The Lord of power and eternity is God’s name. In God is our hope and glory.
