Please read the passage before the homily.

It takes about twenty heavily armored vehicles and over twenty-thousand dollars to take a president of the United States safely out to supper.  It took only one death on only one cross to declare Jesus King.

Prince William was born to be king.  His brother, Prince Harry, was born not to be king.  Such runs the melodrama of the British royal family.

Jesus was born to be king to testify to the truth and everyone who belongs to the truth listens to his voice.  Thus flows the peace of Christ into all of us.

One person, by his death on a cross, reigns forever.  Another, despite armored cars and select group ill have power for four, or, or at most ten years, and, then forgotten.

How do we speak the truth?  How do we listen to his voice?  How do we shut out the lies and speech of the world?  My parents raised us in the Church by divine design.

Our presidents do not act like kings, but we tend to give them the wealth and honor other countries reserve for their kings and queens.

Sometimes, however, we ourselves tend to act like kings.  We want our own kingdoms and queendoms, our own power, our own way, at the expense others.  The only true king died on a cross and rose from the dead, and him we honor today.
