Jesus accuses the people of not believing. Believing is more than saying “I believe’” ; it is trust. Trust enables people to be at home with one another. Trust enables spouses to build their marriages. Trust enables parents and children to bond into a family. Trust enables lifetime commitments.
Jesus says in so many words, that the people did not trust him. Trusting him gives eternal life. It ss the will of the Father that we come to eternal life. Trusting in Jesus is the way to fulfill the will of the Father. We are called to have faith by trusting in the Lord.
