August 15 Revelation 11:19a,2:1-6a, 10ab

We have finished the book of Deuteronomy.  We have crossed the dessert and are about to enter the Promised Land.  We hear from the book of Revelation of another desert and another family.  The Church has seen herself in the image of the woman with child.  It is by the act of God that the woman and child are saved just as itr was by the powerful hand of God that the Israelites both entered the desert and crossed the desert into its Promised Land.

The God of Moses and of the people in his desert is the same God ass the God of Jesus and the people of the book of Revelation.’  We are in both passages of Scripture.  “Now has salvation and power come and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed One.”  Each day we are in journey and each day we draw more closely to the fulfillment of our sojourn.  We are challenged to be as faithful as Moses and ass faithful as the Anointed One.

Our journey is nearing its end.  We have a faithful God, who shows himself faithful from the first pages  of Genesis to the last pages of the Bible.
