At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, “My Father has given me all his inheritance. All that the Father has is also mine.”
The disciples said, “Share with us your inheritance, “Jesus answered, “just as I share your humanness, so I share my inheritance with you. All that is mine is likewise yours because my life does not depend on an abundance of the earthly goods I have,”
Another time, God was very rich and had a great harvest and God began to think, “I need more space for my goods. What should I do? Should I build bigger barns, other continents, or other planets in which to store my harvest?
God did not do this. Rather, God created us and all the other beings on the earth to share God’s goodness. God likewise called us into the life of God’s only Son and filled us with the Holy Spirit. God has given us all God’s wealth.
God has emptied God’s self to make us rich. God has shared God’s inheritance with us and has emptied himself to fill us up.
