Please read this passage before reading the homily.
The first letter to Timothy starts out affirming that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. It continues by saying that there is only one God and only one creation and one sole mediator between God and us. Now we come to the end of the letter. Timothy is like a man of God and ought to live a life of righteousness in the presence of God. God has likewise called him to eternal life.
On the other hand, we likewise are called men and women of God. God has called us to God’s self through baptism and his grace. God has likewise called us to eternal life.
We are in the presence of God, not so that God can accuse of our sins, but because God wants to be with us because of God’s great love for us. God is with us because God wants to be with us on our journey to God’s eternal life.
Now, because we are with God and God’s Son, we ae able to accomplish all that we should be doing faithfully and without reproach until the glorious coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, since we are with God and God’s Son, we can bless and acclaim to God, the King of kings and the Lord of Lords, “To the one God be honor and power forever.”
