My sisters and brothers,

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same .Spirit.  There are different forms of service but the same Lord.  There are different workings but the same God.  There are many gifts, but only one purpose for them.  In each one the manifestation of the Spirit is for the common good.

There are many students, but only one Tecumseh Schools.  The same goes for Northwestern and CTC and other schools.  Each school has many students in the one school.  Our community is divided into many schools, but there is only one community.  Today we celebrate the oneness of the graduates in our community of the Church.

There are many members but only one family.  The many gifts of the woman and the many gifts of the man make one family.  In baseball, the gift of the pitcher needs the gift of the catcher as well as the gifts of the outfielders and infielders.  The gifts of the many members make up the one body, team or schedule.

The gifts of women, of men, of girls and boys make up the one Church through the work of the Holy Spirit.  The gifts of the assembly are necessary for the gifts of the priest and the gifts of the priest needs the gifts of the assembly.  There are many parts, but only one Church.

The gift of the Spirit is for the unity of the people of God.  Just as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit make up the one God, so also God along with the people of God make up a unique oneness that is very special.

All of us, whether Jewish or non-Jewish, whether slave or free, whether English speaking or Spanish speaking, whether women or men, whether Black, brown or white, whether citizen or not, whether poor or rich, since we have received baptism into the one Spirit, make up only one body, only one people, only one Church.

There is only one Spirit for all and only one people through this one Holy Spirit.
