My sisters and brothers,

The book of Revelation gives us a picture of Jesus Christ our high priest.  We celebrate the feast of Christ the King, the King of the Universe.  Jesus Christ is one of us because he has a human nature.  The man Jesus Christ, who is also God, through his human nature, suffered, died, and was buried.  His resurrection from the dead is the inauguration as our King, the King of the Universe.  This Jesus greets us today from his throne of glory.

Our King id the faithful witness.  He suffered and died for the truth.  He also rose from the dead for the sake of truth.  He greets us.

Our King is the firstborn of the dead.  Truly he died and truly he rose from the dead.  He is the first of the dead.  He blesses us.

Jesus Christ is the sovereign over all the kings of the world.  He calls us into his kingdom.

This king loves us and for love of us, he has purified us by his blood.  Through Christ we are freed of our sins.  He makes us holy as he is holy.

Jesus Christ, who is our high priest, has made us a kingdom of priests for our God and Father.  With Christ we are priests through our baptism.  Our high priest exercises his priesthood together with us.

Jesus Christ will come upon the clouds.  We share with Christ his glory.  He comes, not condemn us, but to glorify us.

Jesus Christ id the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the cause and the fulfilment of all things.  In other words, Christ is for us the totality of our existence and needs; there is no other that we need.  He is the A and the Z (which includes B, C, D, etc.), and he includes us with himself.

Jesus Christ is the Lord God, the sovereign over all sovereigns.  He makes us princes and princesses with himself.

Jesus Christ is and is in existence now.  Jesus Christ was in existence at the beginning of the universe.  Jesus Christ likewise will always be and never stop existing.  He makes it so that we will be with him forever.

Jesus Christ will come again.  He came once as our high priest.  After this first coming, he must come a second time.  He will come to take us with him.

Jesus Christ is all-powerful.  He shares with us his power so that we can wait for this second coming when he returns to take us to his glory as the Son of God and our high priest.  He gives us strength through the strength he has.
