What is the kingdom of God like? It is like a mustard seed’s progress of starting small and ending large. The kingdom may seem insignificant in the world of today, but it is growing the way a mustard seed grows into a big tree.
The kingdom of heaven is also like the process of making bread. The three measures of flour equal about 320 cups in our system weights. It is enough bread for a wedding celebration. Yet it has to be leavened to become tasty bread. The kingdom of heaven, like flour with yeast, has to be kneaded to become palatable.
The process of salvation is to take a dull and tasteless world and restore it to its original wholesomeness. This process is like kneading, pushing and pulling, exerting pressure and stretching until the kingdom is ready for its baking.
If we do not see the fulness of the kingdom of heaven now, it may mean that we have not yet been thoroughly baked into the kingdom.
