Please read the text before the commentary.

Moses had a special relationship with God.  He spoke with God face to face.  When he spoke with God his face became radiant, so much so that the Israelites could only look at him after he had put a veil over his face.

Jesus was another one who had a deeply personal relationship with God.  At his transfiguration. His face shone like the sun (Matthew 17:1-8; 2-8; Luke 9:28-36).  Jesus was acknowledged as having  special relationship with God: he is called God’s beloved Son.

We also have a special relationship with God.  The work of baptism is to bring us into God’s family, into the intimacy of God’s life.  We share the life of Jesus through baptism; our faces should shine from our prayer with God.

I do not mean that we have to have a visible, unreal, or practiced grin on our faces, but that our lives should reflect the intimacy we have with God.  We never have to hide our intimacy with God from God.
