Please read the passage before reading the comments.

I’d like to introduce you to Joseph Barsabbas, nicknamed the Good Guy.  He is one of two candidates for the position held by Judas Iscariot.  Joseph has a very good reputation.  The other guy is Matthias.  For whom would you vote?

The choice in reality went for Matthias.  This accords well with a biblical principle.  God always chooses the younger over the older, the underdog for the top runner, the one least expected for the one highly favored.   It is said of papal elections that those who go into the conclave as the preferred candidates come out as cardinals; someone else comes out as Pope.   God does not choose the qualified; God qualifies the chosen.        I h      Many a married couple started out in fear as they realized the import and ramifications of their marriage vows, yet they lived on well past fifty years of marriage and many children and grandchildren.

Look at yourselves in your retirement.  If you are young, look at yourselves and see how God can make you what God wants you to be.   If you are older, see how God has worked with you to supply your needs.

Now, it you lord it over people because you have a position of authority over them, remember the  biblical principle, God choosess the underdog over the qualified.  If you do not remember this, you may veery well be like a blind person leading sighted people or a ignorant person leading people with knowledge and wisdom.

Matthias became a good leader of the people.  We do  not know what became of Joseph Barsabbas the Good Guy.
