Please read the passage before the homily
That is a long list of people to greet in Paul’s name. Paul had considered himself an outsider in the first part of this letter. He had identified himself as a slave. Now, at the end, he compiles a list of the disciples who could vouch for him in Rome.
Paul’s list also shows the unity in the Church. All the churches in Chrost greet the Romans. Nowadays, those who go from church to church evangelizing carry letters of suitability and credibility with them from their superiors.
Let us, however, not end our commentary welcoming Paul into Rome. Let us follow his example and pray that God strengthen us, according to the Gospel and the ;proclamation of Jesus Christ, that we remain faithful to God to the praise and glory of God through Jesus Christ.
