We begin a series of readings from the Gospel according to Luke. Jesus rebuked Satan and Satan left people. He rebuked the woman’s fever and it left her. Jesus restored her to her position in the family.
Jesus continued his healing work in the evening. In fact, he continued his work in the synagogues of Judea. He frequented the synagogues where Jews gathered for prayer and instruction.
Luke emphasizes Jesus as the giver of mercy, as the faithful Jewish person being found in synagogues
We are called, as was Jesus, to go out and announce the good news others, bringing healing, health and salvation to them.
