Who is the Jesus Christ that Paul and Epaphras preached? He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. It is in Jesus Christ that all things were created. Everything is in him, for him, and through him that everything has been made. Without Chrit nothing makes sense, nothing has meaning, nothing has existence. Even reconciliation and peace exist only in him. It is Jesus Christ who has power to join heaven and earth together.
This is the Jesus Christ in whom the Colossians have faith in God. It I through Christ that we have received reconciliation with the father. This is the faith for which Paul has thanked God in the introduction to this letter.
This is the Jesus who leads us as we celebrate at the divine liturgy every Sunday/ This hymn used by Paul in the letter to the Colossians celebrates Christ as the be all and end all of the whole of creation. It is by faith in him that Chrit guides our everyday lives.
